Krakax is a multiplayer archery game you play right in your web browser. Two sides face each other across the arena, and you fire bows, axes and shuriken at the players on the other side. Every shot falls as it flies, and on the planet map it bends around planets too, so aim with gravity in mind. There is nothing to install and no account to create: press Play and you are in a live match.
How to play Krakax
- Aim with the mouse and shoot with the left mouse button or the Space bar. Move with WASD or the arrow keys, or up and down with the mouse wheel. On a phone or tablet, touch the left side to move and the right side to shoot.
- Place a wall with E or the right mouse button, or a two-finger tap. It blocks projectiles for a minute, and you can place one every 20 seconds.
- Land hits. Hits stick to their target and wear off in time, and enough of them at once is fatal.
- Pick a mode. In Co-op, every player is on the same side, shooting across the elevator shaft at bots. In 2 Teams, two sides shoot around the planets at each other.
- Earn coins for kills and spend them on new weapons and characters. Climb the ranks from Squire through Knave, Knight, Duke and Earl to Lord, for more speed, faster recovery and more health.
How does gravity affect my shots?
In Co-op, on the elevator map, shots simply drop as they fly, so aim above your target. In 2 Teams, each planet also pulls on passing projectiles and bends their path, and the downward pull is weaker higher up the map. With the right angle, a shot curves around a planet to reach the far side; aim too close and it sticks in the planet instead. The Winged bow’s arrows ignore gravity.
Tips
- Aim for the head. A head shot, or an axe to the body, is a critical hit and does about double damage. The Cyber bow never lands critical hits.
- Keep a wall up. An axe or a few stuck arrows bring a wall down within seconds, so place a fresh one when you can.
- Shoot the powerups. Powerups appear down the middle of the arena. Hit one with a shot to take it, for extra speed, damage, health and more.
- Start in Co-op. The bots across the shaft hold their height instead of climbing, which makes them easier targets.
